A human call, requested by your software.
Send the purpose, company context, recipient and the questions you need answered. A Human Caller person places the call and checks the answers before they return to your app or AI assistant.
You can start in sandbox today: create a workspace, make a sandbox key and finish test requests with sample answers. Nobody is called in sandbox. Real calls start after we approve your workspace and each phone number you need called.

How waiting works
Creating a request returns immediately with an ID and the status queued. Nobody has been called yet. Requests are accepted around the clock; for a live request, a Human Caller person places the call later, not instantly. After an answered, recorded call the caller checks the answers (needs_review); the result stays empty until they submit it. Register a webhook to be told when it is ready, or check the request every 30 seconds or less often.
Quickstart
1. Make a sandbox key. Sign in, open API access and create a key with request type Sandbox. Keep it on your server.
2. Create a request. The same Idempotency-Key with the same body returns the original request instead of a duplicate.
curl https://humancallerapi.com/api/v1/call-requests \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $HUMAN_CALLER_API_KEY" \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'Idempotency-Key: visit-confirmation-demo-001' \
-d '{"mode":"sandbox","template":"appointment_confirmation",
"company":{"name":"Northstar Home","context":"Confirm the visit and ask about access and pets."},
"recipient":{"name":"Maya Reynolds","phone":"+12025550123"},
"appointment":{"service":"Heating tune-up","date":"2026-10-15","window":"10 AM–12 PM","timezone":"America/New_York"}}'3. Finish it with sample answers. Sandbox only; you can also press Finish with sample answers in your workspace. Sample answers are marked simulated: true and are not a real call.
curl https://humancallerapi.com/api/v1/call-requests/req_YOUR_ID/simulate \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $HUMAN_CALLER_API_KEY" \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"outcome":"confirmed"}'4. Read the result.
curl https://humancallerapi.com/api/v1/call-requests/req_YOUR_ID \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $HUMAN_CALLER_API_KEY"
5. Get results pushed to you. Register an HTTPS endpoint with POST /api/v1/webhooks or in API access. Each delivery is signed with your endpoint’s secret, is attempted up to five times in total and never carries draft answers.
6. Ask for live access. Fill in your details in the workspace. We review them and agree with you which numbers may be called. Your first real call is free: ask us to approve your own number and hear it yourself. Until then, creating a live key, webhook or AI connection returns live_approval_required, and a sandbox key sent with "mode":"live" gets key_scope. A live request to another number gets recipient_not_allowed, and it is never turned into a sandbox request. Live calls are recorded automatically when answered; that is not the recipient’s consent, and results report consent separately.
Use your AI chat app
The MCP connection lets Claude and other compatible apps create a call request, check its progress and read the result. Claude and ChatGPT connect with your own sign-in; other MCP clients use an API key. Either way a connection sees only your workspace’s requests of one type, and disconnecting in API access (or revoking the key) blocks it immediately.
- Claude: add a custom connector with the MCP address above and the OAuth client ID shown in your workspace under API access. Leave the client secret blank. Choose sandbox or, once approved, live on the permission screen.
- ChatGPT: can create sandbox requests and read your requests and results (verified in a sandbox test on September 19, 2026). If ChatGPT reports an internal error, disconnect and reconnect Human Caller in ChatGPT’s settings. Each ChatGPT connection has to be registered by us first, so get in touch to connect ChatGPT.
